Raj K Raj’s journey into photography is a captivating tale of passion, persistence, and talent. It all began with a modest Pentax100 camera, bought with his father’s support during his college days. Raj initially dreamed of a career in cartooning, but fate had other plans. in 1999, he landed an internship in photography at Hindustan times, setting him on a path that would span over 23 years and counting.
His impressive portfolio, featuring over thirty-seven thousand images on Getty images, showcases his versatility and expertise across various genres, including politics, fashion, documentary, and portraiture. Raj’s knack for capturing the essence of his subjects—be they Bollywood celebrities, politicians, or ordinary folks—highlights his keen eye for emotion and storytelling.

Transitioning seamlessly from traditional film to digital photography, Raj’s commitment to honing his craft is evident. His skillful play with light, whether natural or artificial, adds depth and dimension to his photographs, transforming them into visual masterpieces. Throughout his illustrious career, Raj has earned numerous accolades, including the National Photography Competition’s Gender Barabar edition in 2012 and the international Committee of the Red Cross (iCRC) humanitarian Best Photo Feature Award by Pii- iCRC in 2017. These awards stand as a testament to his talent and dedication.

As an indian photojournalist with a unique perspective, Raj K Raj brings authenticity and depth to his work. For him, photographs are not merely images but windows into realities, conveying the raw emotions and stories of the people captured in those fleeting moments.
