Chhattisgarh Government Announces Major Decisions in Cabinet Meeting

The Cabinet Meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, took place today at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan. The following decisions were made in the meeting:

The Cabinet has decided to forward the case of alleged irregularities in the State Service Examination-2021, conducted by Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission, to the Central Bureau of Investigation for thorough investigation. The selection list for 170 vacancies in 12 departments under the State Service Examination-2021 was released by Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission.

The Cabinet decided to buy up to 21 quintals of paddy per acre (including linking) from the state’s farmers at a support price in the Kharif marketing year 2023-24, keeping the farmers’ interest in mind. This decision of the Cabinet fulfilled the Chhattisgarh government’s pledge of buying 21 quintals of paddy from farmers. It is worth mentioning that paddy procurement was also part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guarantee.

The Chhattisgarh government made a major decision for the welfare of Antyodaya and priority ration card holders of the state. The Cabinet Meeting today decided to give free food grains to ‘Antyoday’ and ‘priority’ category beneficiaries for the next five years. This will benefit 67 lakh 92 thousand 153 ration card holding families of the state, who will get food grains for the next 5 years. Free rice will also be provided at ration shops.

The Cabinet decided to give free food grains on Antyodaya and Priority Ration Cards in the state under Chhattisgarh Food and Nutrition Security Act 2012, similar to the National Food Security Act-2013 for the next 5 years starting January 2024.
