Opposition has No Answer to Modi, Bihar Results Prove it Once Again!

The NDA is set to firmly retain control of the state, having won 202 out of the 243 seats in the Bihar Legislative Assembly. If credit for this victory goes most to any one person, it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi was not only the most effective and popular campaigner for the NDA in Bihar, but he also successfully managed all the coalition partners, staunchly backing Nitish Kumar. Furthermore, Modi checkmated the opposition in Bihar and put the loudmouth leaders in their place. As far as Modi is concerned, he remains the most credible leader in the country; the public has unwavering trust in him, and the Bihar elections have strongly confirmed this.

An NDA government is set to be formed in Bihar once again. Clear indications are that Nitish Kumar will take oath as the Chief Minister of the state for the tenth time. This is the second biggest victory for the NDA in Bihar and the second biggest defeat for the RJD-Congress alliance. While the BJP itself successfully won 89 seats in Bihar, Nitish Kumar’s JDU secured 85 seats. Chirag Paswan’s party LJP(RV) got 19, Jitanram Manjhi’s HAM got 5, and Upendra Kushwaha’s RLM got four.

The magic of the Modi-Nitish duo

Credit for this massive victory of the NDA’s constituent parties is being given to the Modi-Nitish duo. During the election campaign, the Prime Minister himself presented this ‘Narendra-Nitish’ partnership to the people of Bihar and sought voters’ support for Bihar’s development. The massive mandate in favor of the NDA is proof of the tremendous faith the people of Bihar placed in their words.

The popularity of Modi and Nitish among women and youth has changed the very definition of ‘MY’ in Bihar. Instead of RJD’s Muslim-Yadav vote bank, this NDA’s ‘Mahila-Yuva’ (Women-Youth) combination has now become more effective. Nitish government’s scheme, which transferred ten thousand rupees directly into women’s accounts just before the elections to steer them towards becoming entrepreneurs, also played a major role in this.

NDA’s second biggest victory

In terms of Bihar Assembly elections, this is the second biggest victory for the NDA. The NDA had performed better only in 2010, by winning just four more seats. However, comparing these two results would be irrelevant. Those results were achieved when the first five-year NDA government under Nitish Kumar’s leadership had run in Bihar, and people had felt a significant difference compared to Lalu-Rabri’s ‘Jungle Raj’ – from improvement in law and order to better roads, electricity, and water.

Back then, JDU had contested 141 seats and won 115, while BJP had contested 102 and won 91. At that time, in Bihar, under Nitish’s leadership, JDU played the role of the big brother and BJP the younger brother, a command then held by Sushil Modi. Compared to that, this time both BJP and JDU contested 101-101 seats and managed to win 89 and 85 seats respectively. This kind of success, after the NDA has been in power in Bihar for almost twenty years (barring one year), will be considered quite impactful compared to the 2010 election results.

PM Modi gave new hope to Bihar

After this election victory, Prime Minister Modi’s speech delivered from the BJP headquarters is quite hopeful for Bihar. During this speech, he not only presented a model for Bihar’s development but also appealed to investors in India and abroad to see the state as a major investment destination. Modi expressed a strong resolve that the people of Bihar get employment within Bihar and the state develops rapidly. Modi assured that the new government will realize this dream on the ground. The people of Bihar would want to see this implemented as soon as possible, and for this very reason, they have generously handed over seats to the NDA’s kitty.

BJP performed the best in Bihar elections

In the results of the 2025 assembly elections, the BJP has emerged much stronger, with a strike rate of over ninety percent. The JDU has also won seats this time with a strike rate of over eighty percent, performing much better compared to 2020. The parties of Chirag Paswan, Jitanram Manjhi, and Upendra Kushwaha have also greatly benefited from being part of the NDA coalition. This time, the seat-sharing arrangement was good, and during the election campaign, there was great unity among the NDA parties. This is the reason such a good result was achieved by all the constituent parties. Modi consistently strived to maintain this kind of unity within the NDA.

In contrast, the public has made it clear to Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav, who kept creating uproars over issues from vote theft to SIR, that this won’t work. The message is clear: until there is a solid blueprint for Bihar’s development and their conduct improves, the people of Bihar will not be able to trust these parties. The message is also to exercise restraint in speech. The kind of language used by these two leaders during the election campaign or before, particularly concerning Prime Minister Modi, has been rejected by the public.
