FBI Arrests Pakistani Youth in Canada, Was Planning Terror Attack in US

Muhammad Shahzeb Khan, a 20-year-old Pakistani youth residing in Canada, has been extradited to the United States. He is accused of plotting a dangerous shooting attack on a Jewish center in Brooklyn, New York. The US investigative agency FBI states that Khan intended to carry out this attack for the terrorist organization ISIS.
According to the FBI, Khan had decided to attack a Jewish center in Brooklyn on October 7, 2024. This date marked the first anniversary of Hamas’s attack on Israel in 2023. He intended to harm many people with high-powered weapons. Khan shared his plan with two individuals, but he did not know they were undercover FBI agents.
In September 2024, Khan was apprehended in Canada. He was near the US-Canada border in Ormstown, Quebec. He attempted to cross the border in three different vehicles, but the FBI and Canadian police caught him. FBI chief Kash Patel stated, “Khan is now in the US and will have to face the consequences of his actions.”
Khan faces two major charges: one for attempting to provide support to ISIS and the other for conspiring to commit a terrorist attack by crossing the border. If found guilty, he could face life imprisonment. US Attorney Jay Clayton said, “We will never allow such conspiracies targeting our Jewish community to succeed.”
FBI chief Kash Patel stated that this case highlights the growing threats against the Jewish community. He added that the threat of terrorism is global, and countries must work together to prevent it. Khan’s arrest is a result of this unity. Khan’s plot was foiled in time, averting a major incident. He will now appear in a New York court where legal action will be taken against him. This news highlights the critical importance of the fight against terrorism.
