UP Police Arrests YouTuber Mohammed Amir for Obscene, Abusive Content Dressed as Saint

Moradabad, July 26, 2025

In a continued crackdown on vulgar and provocative content online, Uttar Pradesh Police on Thursday arrested Mohammed Amir, a popular YouTuber from Moradabad, for allegedly posting abusive and obscene videos while dressed in attire resembling Hindu saints.
Amir, known online as TRT (Top Real Team), commands over 5 million subscribers on his YouTube channel. His arrest comes just days after Instagram influencers Mehak and Pari were detained in Sambhal for circulating indecent content.
What Happened?
A complaint was lodged by social media user Aman Thakur, who accused Amir of uploading content that was “derogatory, inflammatory, and disrespectful.” In one widely circulated video, Amir was seen dressed in saint-like robes while using profane language, sparking outrage among viewers and religious groups.
Following an investigation, Moradabad Police confirmed the allegations, citing multiple videos with objectionable and potentially inciteful content.
“Amir repeatedly uploaded objectionable, provocative, and insulting videos that spread hatred and confusion in society. Legal action has been taken, and other videos are under review,” the Moradabad Police said in an official statement.
Legal Action Taken
Amir was arrested from the Pakbada area of Moradabad on July 25. He has been booked under:
Section 296 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) – pertaining to deliberate acts intended to outrage religious feelings.

Section 67 of the Information Technology Act – related to publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form.

He remains in police custody as investigations continue. Cyber Crime Cells are now reviewing his entire content archive and tracking the circulation of related videos.
Earlier Arrests: Mehak & Pari
This arrest follows the recent detainment of Instagram influencers Mehak and Pari (Mehrul Nisa) in Sambhal, who were accused of sharing sexually explicit content to gain attention online.
A Growing Concern: Vulgarity for Virality
Authorities note a troubling rise in online creators using vulgar language, fake religious imagery, and indecent content to chase views and follower counts. The UP Police has reiterated that such acts will not be taken lightly.
Warning to Content Creators: “Stop posting abusive/obscene content. Legal consequences will follow violations,” said police officials.
Government Push for Digital Accountability
With the Indian government stepping up efforts to regulate online platforms, influencers and content creators are being urged to balance creativity with responsibility. Those who flout decency norms risk severe legal action, bans, and content takedowns.
