MPs have queued up in the Parliament to cast their vote to elect the 15th President of India. A total of 776 Members of Parliament and 4,033 MLAs voted in the Presidential elections. NDA candidate Droupadi Murmu was elected the 15th President of India. She emerged victorious after crossing the halfway mark in the third round of counting, as she defeated the opposition’s candidate Yashwant Sinha and became the first tribal woman as a President.
