MAHENDRA PARIKH

2019 marks 40 years of Mahindra Parikh’s career as a photographer. He took to photography at a very young age, following his uncle. From a studio photographer to a photojournalist, his journey has been long, challenging and deeply fulfilling. He says the best time of his career was with The Indian Express. “The thrill of picking up my bag and leaving home each morning in search of that one picture that will make it to the front page of the next day’s newspaper was unmatched,” he says. He also feels blessed that he worked in the pre-digital era of photography where the cameraman had “the true power to capture the moment” and keep it’s raw emotion alive untouched and unedited.
